Since we last published a coronavirus briefing the government have announced some changes to their guidelines. Some of these affect us more than others, but we wanted to give you an overview of our position in relation to some of these changes.
Shielding
The government have relaxed the guidelines for people who were classed as shielding.
In order to identify those customers who were classed as shielding, our approach up until now has been to put a ‘flag’ against their tenancy in Capita, so colleagues can see at first glance those people who we shouldn’t be visiting in person.
Now that the shielding restrictions and guidelines have been eased, we’re removing these flags (unless the customer lives in one of the affected lockdown areas in Leicester).
We’ll be writing to those customers who are affected by this to let them know our plans, and reassure them that should shielding measures be reintroduced at any time we’ll revert their status back to being flagged.
If you’re working with a customer who’s no longer officially shielding, but is still not comfortable with you visiting their property, please discuss this with your manager on a case by case basis.
Local lockdown in Leicester
The guidelines from government regarding the local lockdown in Leicester and surrounding areas are changing all of the time, and at times, difficult to interpret.
The Covid Response team are working their way through the guidelines and understanding what they mean for our service standards in Leicester. We’ll update you on this next week.
Changes to the self-isolation period for those with coronavirus or showing symptoms
The guidelines have now changed from a seven day isolation period to ten days for people who are displaying symptoms or have tested positive for coronavirus.
If this affects you, speak to your manager who will ensure HR are kept informed of your status and update your records accordingly.
Annual leave and foreign travel
The situation regarding quarantine after a foreign holiday is rapidly changing.
Please make sure you speak to your manager before booking any foreign holidays for this year. Bear in mind that if you’re required to quarantine when you return you’ll need to book 14 days annual or unpaid leave.
Covid-19 Secure spaces
We’ve had to put lots of provisions in place to make sure our offices are now Covid-19 Secure spaces. Part of this needs you to let your manager know if you need to return to the office, so they can discuss arrangements for an induction with you.
If you’re wishing to use either of our offices in Mountsorrel or Ollerton, please email Andrew.Kalmar@ncha.org.uk or Nkosana.Mthimkhulu@ncha.org.uk directly to arrange access.
