City Centre Pupil Safety and Engagement - Nottingham City Council Community Protection would like to extend a free offer to all City Primary Schools. When classes are visiting the City centre on walk arounds, trails, events, trips or visits to City attractions we will offer a uniformed Community Protection Officer (CPO) to accompany the class on all or part of their visit. CPOs are fully qualified first aiders and FPOS First Person On Scene trained. The CPO will help with road and personal safety, as well has being a support to the adults and children. Free Holiday Activities and Food for Disadvantaged Pupils - Nottingham City Council is submitting a grant bid to the DfE to fund holiday activities and healthy food for disadvantaged children during the 2020 Summer holidays. As part of the preparation for this bid we are undertaking a mapping exercise to ascertain what activities are currently held in all Nottingham City schools and academies; we would be grateful for your feedback. more info

Teaching Assistant Conference Thursday 6th February 2020 - "Feeling valued... confident... motivated... enthusiastic!" These are some of the comments from TAs after last year's event. This year's theme is What Makes Great Teaching Assistant Support? with Professor Robert Coe, author of What makes great teaching? and Teaching and Learning Toolkit. Delegates will also take part in useful practical workshops. The EEF will be running a stall on a range of subjects to support TA practice andFutures will be offering advice on training and qualification opportunities. Proposed schools funding formula for 2020/21 consultation - The consultation on the proposed changes to the local funding formula for schools in the financial year 2020/21 is now open and will close on Friday 20th December 2019 at 5pm. Get Festive with Nottingham Contemporary Saturday 14th December 2019 - Come and bring the family along to Nottingham Contemporary art gallery as we celebrate the upcoming festive season by playing with colour, pattern and print! Create your own brightly-coloured patterns on fabric using shapes as inspiration. Take your artwork home or display it on the wall in the room. Great for families and under 12’s but suitable for all ages, 11am-3pm.

Grants Available for Environmental Projects - Schools can apply for grants of between £500 and £5,000 for environmental projects covering renewable energy, conservation, recycling, sustainable communities, science & education and community energy. Recently funded projects include Pilling St John's Primary School which received funding towards the installation of a wind turbine at the school. Applications can be submitted at any time. more info
