The Nottingham Big Tent Project: Pupils use art to show how love is more powerful than hate - Schoolchildren in Nottingham have created 80 pieces of artwork to fill an exhibition promoting cultural diversity. The Nottingham Big Tent opened on Monday 19th and visitors to Old Market Square will have the opportunity to walk through and see the pictures on display until Wednesday 21st June. The project involves 35 local schools and has been funded by a grant from the Scape Group. The aim is to celebrate Nottingham’s rich diversity and community cohesion. Wolfson Foundation's Secondary Education Programme - The next deadline for stage 1 application to the Wolfson Foundation's Secondary Education Programme is the 10th January 2018. Through its Secondary Education Programme high-achieving (in receipt of an outstanding Ofsted assessment or regional equivalent) state-funded schools and sixth form colleges can apply to the Foundation for funding for capital or equipment projects relating to the teaching of science and technology; or projects involving libraries, languages, music or the arts. Apprenticeship Levy Reminder for all maintained Schools - In order for maintained schools to access the apprenticeship levy schools should contact the City Council to procure their apprenticeship training and not make arrangements directly with training providers. Schools can let the Human Resources Team know who their preferred training provider is, but providers need to meet the team's procurement criteria and be on their framework of preferred suppliers (in addition to that of the ESFA).
