Litter Pick and pizza in Lenton Abbey

litter pick

AJ Sports and Nottingham City Homes worked together to organise a litter pick of Lenton Abbey one evening in June. There was a great turnout and many bags of rubbish removed. The young people and friends from the local area were then treated to a pizza feast at the Sheila Roper Centre.

AJ Sports are again providing free summer holiday activity for local children supported by our Area Funding. You can find out more on their website AJsportacademy.co.uk or phone 07708 181417

Improving road safety around Lenton

safety

Road safety is something that we value in Lenton and Wollaton East ward and that’s why it has been one of our manifesto commitments when we started our term in 2019.

We are proud that we were able to support road improvements on Derby Road from Canning Circus down to Lenton Boulevard, some of those improvements have already been made and some are yet to come soon for the benefit of all Lenton residents.

Our proposed works include widening central refuges, installation of average speed cameras, signage and other measures. We want to thank all residents who took part in the consultation and we are looking forward to making our streets safer for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists!

The ribbon was cut by Councillor Dave Trimble who made a speech praising the local fundraising and volunteering effort, as well as the contribution from our Parks Department.
