More than 26,000 fans, including 4,500 local school children flocked to the Nottingham Tennis Centre for the WTA and ATP tournaments in June. The two Aegon Open Nottingham events have seen the return of world class tennis to the city and have also worked to highlight the opportunities to play tennis in and around the city for all communities.

Nottingham Post revealed this week that Nottingham is one of the top cities to play the game in the country! New research has placed Nottingham eighth above the likes of Leeds and Manchester when it comes to the number of tennis courts per amount of people living in the city. The research, based on the 2011 Census shows that Nottingham has a total of 173 courts - that's one court for every 1,672 people living in the city. Click here to read the full story.
