The Government has set up a business support helpline on 0300 456 3565. This is available Monday to Friday from 9am to 6pm.

The Council continues to process Restart Grant applications to support non-essential retail premises with one-off grants of up to £6,000 and up to £18,000 for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym business premises.
If you have not already applied you will need to apply for this funding, even if you have previously received funding from us from a previous business support scheme. The deadline is 30 June 2021. Apply here

Congratulations to the two Malvern Hills businesses and their staff that have been awarded The Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2021 - Olpro and Payara. The awards are the most prestigious business awards in the UK and recognise and encourage outstanding achievements in, Innovation, International trade, Sustainable development, and Promoting opportunity. 205 organisations have been nationally recognised this year with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise, personally approved by Her Majesty The Queen. The Specialist Business Adviser programme is now open for businesses to register their interest to be involved in the FREE support scheme. The programme enables businesses to receive expert advice on specialist topics in a 1-1 or group setting. Businesses can now register their interest to be involved on the website here.
The Peer Networks programme provides businesses with a FREE support network with 1-1 and group sessions designed to help businesses collaborate and overcome their challenges together. The scheme is now accepting registrations of interest from businesses interested in benefitting from the support. Find out more on the website here.
Worcestershire Jobs is a completely free service that has been launched by the Worcestershire LEP and Worcestershire County Council to help people find jobs, training options and educational courses all within Worcestershire. The online jobs portal works by collating all local vacancies and courses into one easy to use website. This allows anyone to quickly search for jobs, training opportunities or further educational courses at the click of a button. Users can also enter keywords to filter their results based on the interests or skills they have. Access the website here

Claim your MHDC bursary – Bursaries can help with up to £1500 of funding to help apprentices with the costs of travel, equipment, and work clothes. If an applicant for an apprenticeship needs the money in order to take up an apprenticeship you can help them apply to Malvern Hills District Council here.
Midlands Cyber, the regional Cyber Security Cluster for the West Midlands has launched its new brand identity. The introduction of a new logo and website symbolises the brand’s commitment to represent The Midland’s Industry focus of ‘Security by Design’ and promote growth across the region. Applications for The Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards are now open for businesses to apply for.
The tourism and hospitality sector has had an extremely challenging 18 months and the awards will be a chance for businesses to have their hard work recognised, with a glamorous evening of celebration to be held in March 2022.
Applications close on 16th August 2021, with tourism and hospitality businesses able to apply for 12 awards across a range of different areas. All winners of the Visit Worcestershire Tourism Awards will be submitted for entry into the Visit England awards, for a chance to win on the national stage and represent Worcestershire as one of the best destinations in England.

Malvern Hills District Council’s Tackling Poverty Summit is taking place on Tuesday 29 June from 9.30am – 12.30pm. The event will be conducted via zoom, and the details are included in the Programme.
A number of keynote speakers from across the sector will address attendees on the current issues they face, and the challenges of working through the pandemic.
The Summit will include interactive workshops on the following topics:
- Connecting Crisis Support to Prevention Services
- Conquering the Barriers to Unemployment
- Providing Stable Homes

If your business is in a position to support local community projects, please consider supporting Teme Wheels, a locally run community transport charity, who are crowdfunding for an electric vehicle with wheelchair capability to provide essential journeys for vulnerable residents. This project is transformational, not only in terms of the environment, but also for the social impact it will have on continuing to provide vital transport services to Malvern Hills district residents.
