We have refreshed our webpages to make it easier to find the information you need to support your business.
We have also added new content, including up-to-date
information on jobs and apprenticeship vacancies as well as details of our new
grant schemes (see below).
We have also recently refreshed and re-launched our
Apprenticeship and Graduate grant schemes.
The Malvern Hills Apprenticeship Grant Scheme provides
funding of £1,000 to help businesses take on apprentices to fill
the skills gap and create the workforce of the future.
The Malvern Hills Graduate Grants Scheme offers financial
support of up to £2,000 towards the cost of recruiting a graduate or
undergraduate
We are pleased to announce that we will soon be launching a
Malvern Hills Growth Grant.
The aim of the scheme is to support growing businesses based
in Malvern Hills district who are not able to receive support through other
European funded schemes. Growing businesses that have been trading for at least
1 year will be able to apply for a match-funded grant of up to £3,000.

Business Survey - £100 Value Prize Draw
We are updating our evidence base regarding the growth
and development needs of businesses in Malvern Hills district. We would be really grateful if you could complete our
Business Survey and help inform the council where it should be devoting its
resources.
Completion of the survey will entitle you to enter a prize
draw for a three course Sunday lunch meal for four people up to the value of
£100 at Stanbrook Abbey Hotel.
Investing in Growth is a Capital and Revenue
based grant scheme which offers grants from £20,000 up to £50,000
at an intervention rate of 45%. The Grant programme aims to aid business
expansion enabling local SMEs to realise their growth potential, strengthen
their position in the market and generate employment.
Be Cyber Secure Programme - Limited Places Remaining
Concerned about protecting your data? Is poor cyber security
preventing your business growth?
The Be Cyber Secure Programme helps Worcestershire SMEs
protect and improve their cyber security, enable business growth and achieve
cyber certification by offering free specialist advice and support to improve
cyber security plus a grant to enable improvements to be implemented.

Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme
Businesses can claim up to £3,000 to upgrade their broadband
with the Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme.
The primary objective of this scheme is to expand the full
fibre, gigabit-capable network to small and medium-sized enterprises.
SMEs will be able to access a voucher worth £3,000 to
upgrade their business broadband connection to fast and reliable gigabit speed
(without the need for a match).
Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards – Entries Now Open
Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and
Worcestershire County Council have announced that entries are now open for this
year’s Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards 2018.
Apprentices, employers, schools and training providers are
being urged to submit their entries and nominations by the deadline of 6 July
2018. Tables are now on sale as well as sponsorship opportunities for the
awards which will take place on Thursday 15 November 2018 at West Midland
Safari Park.
Worcestershire has been awarded £4.8 million to test and
explore 5G connectivity, in order to revolutionise the way future business will
operate both in the UK and globally.
5G is the next generation of mobile technology. When it
becomes available in the UK in the next three years, 5G is expected to have a
profound impact on the global economy and the way people live their lives.
Worcestershire LEP and the 5G Testbed consortium is already
working to increase the pool of local expertise, and is welcoming interest from
enterprises looking to increase industrial productivity. To fuel interest, the
consortium has commissioned the creation of new courses at local academic
institutions The University of Worcester and Heart of Worcestershire College.
Entrepreneurs will also have the opportunity to test 5G capabilities in a new
commercial technology accelerator located at Malvern Hills Science Park.
The 5G Testbed consortium is open to exploring new
opportunities for application and product development and is welcoming interest

The Malvern Construction Industry Butty Business Breakfast
26th April 2018, 8:30am – 9:30am | The Council Chamber (MHDC), Malvern
Are you a construction related firm?Are you in the painting, building, plumbing,
electrics, flooring, windows, roofing, architecture, building assessment,
building equipment trades? Then you are invited to attend this event.
Run by Worcestershire Apprenticeships and Malvern Hills
District Council, this is your chance to find out about the grants and help
available to construction related firms taking on apprentices or graduate
trainees.
The presentations will last for about an hour although there
will be the option to stay and ask questions afterwards. Information will also
be available to take away.

BEEP Sustainability Forum
