Have your say on a new community parkland at Deangate 💬
The project will transform a site that currently lacks formal access into a new parkland for local residents and wildlife. This parkland will be part of a larger Strategic Environmental Management Strategy, which aims to protect wildlife and ecology whilst creating new public open spaces.
The project includes plans for new picnic areas, improved viewpoints, cycle paths, and paths for walkers and dog walkers. The area is home to a variety of wildlife including nightingales, pipistrelle bats, slow worms and great crested newts, and the project includes measures to enhance woodland areas and establish more species in the grasslands.
Funding options for this exciting project are being explored.

Medway Pride 2023 is a LGBTQIA+ community cohesion event that aims to bring all Medway communities, together to support equality and inclusion of all people and celebrate their diversity with the LGBTQIA+ communities of Medway and the surrounding area.
Our ever-popular BumpClub programme is back for September, and we are looking for mums-to-be to become members. The next group starts on Monday, 11 September and the sessions will take place online from 7pm to 8pm every Monday and Thursday.
We focus on staying healthy in pregnancy and beyond, with lots of information about baby care and more. The sessions include:
baby first aid
pregnancy yoga
cooking demos
how to challenge yourself to stay active
group walks and social events
You'll have lots of fun and meet new friends as our activities continue well after the programme finishes. We also have clubs taking place in November and January too and you can book ahead if you are in the early stages of your pregnancy.
