Your Summer edition of all things clean in Medway...
Trolley dash win for Strood shoppers
Our Environmental Services team joined forces with @MedwaySwaleEstuaryPartnership and Morrisons Strood to clear shopping trolleys and other discarded items and rubbish from Jane’s Creek, between the supermarket and Strood Retail Park.
The annual voluntary clear out of the waterway sees the partners spend the day dragging out various items including a bicycle but the main haul is usually trolleys, for salvage and re-use, if possible. Set against the beautiful backdrop of @rochestercathedral and Rochester Castle, the team worked hard to clear as many of the refuse eyesores as they could, in a continued attempt to make Medway a happy and healthy place to live, visit and work.
Did you know you can now book and take your tip trip on the same day?

Three local residents received Dobbies Garden Centre vouchers after their front gardens were ranked top three in Medway – could your garden be next year’s winner?
Take part in the recycling survey and support the circular economy
The BLUEPRINT Circular Economy Project is working to improve recycling in flats. To support their work, please fill out this short 5 minute survey about recycling.
You do not need to live in a flat to fill out this survey.
We take the paper and card you put in your blue reusable bag to a paper mill where it is recycled into paper products.
Please help us continue to do this by making sure you use your white reusable bag food and drink cans, plastic food packaging, clean metal foil, aerosol cans, plastic bottles, pots, tubs and trays.
From switching to bamboo toothbrushes and saying no to plastic straws, to subscribing to the national water refill programme, #GotTheBottle, we can all make difference when it comes to plastic pollution.
