Refill – life with less plastic, made easy
The award-winning environmental campaign Refill aims to help people live with less plastic by allowing businesses and organisations to sign up as a Refill station and offer free tap water refills to anyone who brings in a reusable bottle.
The app can also support you to find plastic free coffee, lunch, and shopping.
Could Refill benefit your business?
Research has shown that:
- 64% of consumers are more likely to return for future purchases if they can refill their water bottle.
- 62% of consumers would choose a business who offers Refill over a competitor.
64 businesses have already signed up in Medway and this is your chance to join a global movement that has 30,000 Refill Stations 100 million pieces of plastic avoided to date.
The Medway Food Partnership can support your Refill journey by offering Refill stickers to go on your business window, as we have found that many people do not like to request for water when unsure if it is offered for free, so stickers put them at ease and beckon them in. Once signed up, your business will also be shown on the Refill app, which has over 300,000 downloads.
If you would like to find out more about the Refill scheme, and want to sign up as a Refill station, please email foodpartnership@medway.gov.uk.

Winning poem by Poppy, Year 5, Lordswood School
I'm Waiting, I'm Waiting!
I'm waiting I'm waiting,
I'm waiting to be found.
I'm waiting to lay in my bed of mud and dirt,
and covered in the blanket of soil.
I'm waiting to be buried in the ground.
I'm waiting, I'm waiting.
I'm waiting to grow,
I'm waiting to drink,
I'm waiting to glow,
I'm waiting for a shower,
I'm waiting to become a flower.
I'm Waiting, I'm Waiting,
I'm still waiting,
For now I'm nothing more,
I'm just a little rose seed waiting to score.
