Top Tips For Post-lockdown Anxiety
Easing of lockdown will allow us to get back to the people and things we love. It’s okay if you feel worried about this. Even positive change can lead to anxiety, and it can take time to readjust to things we have not done for a while. Feelings of post-lockdown anxiety are likely to pass with time as we get used to the ‘new normal; but it's important to take care of our mental wellbeing in the meantime. Here are some top tips from Every Mind Matters.
Gardening On Prescription
Sow the City and seven community gardens are launching a new gardening on prescription service in Manchester for people experiencing mental ill health. They accept self-referrals, referrals from health professionals, supported accommodation providers and other mental health support workers. They will discuss interests, need and practicalities so they can recommend a gardening project suited to each individual. Here’s the referral form.

Be Well In Manchester
Be Well is the Social Prescribing Service for Manchester. Wherever you are in life, they can help you develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to take control of your life, health and wellbeing. They cover isolation, mental health support, managing and preventing long term health conditions, lifestyle change support, welfare support, and unemployment. They’ll connect you to local services and you’ll also receive one to one coaching sessions from the Be Well team. You can be referred by any organisation in Manchester. Working With Your Child During The Summer Holidays - 15th July, 10.30am-12pm
In this free Zoom workshop, educational psychologists, Abigail and Audrey, from One Education will give some information and tips about how to work with your child during the school break this summer.
This training has been co-produced by One Education and Manchester Parent Carer Forum and is for parents and carers of children and young people in Manchester who have Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). More information on the workshop here - please book.

The Greater Manchester Autism Consortium (GMAC) is holding a repeated virtual Stakeholder Event looking at: progress on the Making Greater Manchester Autism Friendly strategy, news about the new All-age strategy, and what should be in the next Greater Manchester Autism Strategy. It’s on Monday 12th July 1-3pm, Thursday 15th July 10 am-12pm and Wednesday 8th September 6- 8pm and the invite is to all autistic people, family members and friends, professionals working with autistic people or with an interest, commissioners, and members of local partnership boards and strategy groups. It’s the same event each time so you only need to book onto one using this Eventbrite link. If Zoom really isn't your thing, they can look at alternatives, including small face to face gatherings. Our Pass offers 16 to 18 year olds free bus travel on most local bus services across Greater Manchester, making it easier to access education, work, training, culture and leisure in the city region. Our Pass also provides access to a range of exclusive offers, discounts and experiences. To be eligible to apply as part of the next intake for 2021-2022, an applicant must be resident in Greater Manchester and be aged at least 16 and under 18 on 31 August 2021. Could you cope during a power cut? What happens if you or the person you care for has a respiratory condition that means you use a ventilator or you have medicines stored in the fridge? The Electricity North West Priority Service Register (PSR) offers FREE additional support if and when there is a power cut. They can provide advance notice of service interruptions, and notice before any planned work in the area. They also provide additional service for those whose main language is not English or have communication difficulties. Find out more here or call 0808 278 7800.
