May 2021
In this month's bulletin we introduce our new monthly Learning Lunch webinar series, provide an update on our digital work with councils and issue a call for your ideas on staff retention.
Inaugural learning lunch
This new monthly webinar series will keep you up to date with health and care integration national policy developments and showcase good practice from around the country. Join us for the first webinar on Wednesday 26 May 1.00 to 2.00pm, which features Somerset County Council discussing their model of intermediate care to support discharge to assess (D2A).
Culture change and partnership working
The penultimate thought piece for local leaders in adult social care has been published following the LGA's masterclass on care technology culture change and partnerships. The piece challenges all of us to play a part (and bust a move) in creating a culture of innovation.
Digital making a difference
Two programmes supporting digital innovation in adult social care have produced a range of resources and tools for councils. Read our article on innovation in care in the latest edition of the LGA’s FIRST magazine and find out more about the team’s work with councils.
Staff retention
As hospitality re-opens and people return to work from furlough, councils and care providers are keen to retain the staff and demonstrate that social care is a valuable and rewarding career. We are producing a top tips guide on staff retention and welcome your good practice and ideas to be included. Please send to chip@local.gov.uk.
