Over recent years Employer Link has provided benchmarking on MAT chief executive pay. We have done the same for the published pay in the accounts to 31 March 2018. This analysis can be found on our useful resources page, under the comparative data part of the concertina under Multi-academy Trusts – chief executive pay. The research shows the comparison of chief executive pay by academy number and by total MAT expenditure.

This year we have analysed the wider workforce data published in the accounts to produce a more detailed report. This can be found on the Academies Page, in the Useful Employer Link resources for academies concertina under MAT workforce costs.

This research provides a number of wider benchmarks that can be used in senior management pay policies as well as more detailed benchmarking for chief executive pay. There is analysis of wider workforce costs which allows benchmarking of spend on total wages and salaries, supply and restructuring costs as well as details around headcount and 'top slice' to be able to provide central MAT services to academies. The report is at a national level, based on 199 MATs. If you would be interested in more detailed benchmarking for your trust please email us.

You will need to be logged in to access the reports.
