Step into a magical world of light, colour and sound, as you explore the grounds of Cannizaro Park adorned with thousands of lights transforming the gardens into an enchanted winter wonderland. Father Christmas will also be making an appearance (selected days only). An unmissable event to start off the festive season.

Morden lights switch on

Come and join in the festive family fun in Morden, for the borough's Christmas lights switch-on event.

There will be lots of festive fun throughout the evening, including:Sing-along performances from local school choirs, Father Christmas, Face-painting, Magic performances, Arts and crafts. Plus, Free mince pies, popcorn and candy floss.

Friday 24 November 2023, from 4pm, The illumination of the Christmas tree and lights will be at 5.15pm. Morden, Civic Centre

Mitcham Fair Green will be transformed into a delightful ice rink* and Santa land, whilst the market square will host a variety of traditional Christmas merriment through food, entertainment a makers market and more!

Wimbledon winterfest

Wimbledon Winterfest  has a new spot next to the Wimbledon Quarter SW19 (formerly Centre Court Shopping), with vintage rides for children, ice sculpting workshops, hot food and drinks, performances on our snow stage, together with our Christmas Market on The Piazza. Father Christmas will make an appearance at Winterfest throughout the day and be sure to book tickets for ice skating in the new courtyard under Wimbledon Quarter’s retractable roof.

Sunday 25 November, 12-6pm, Wimbledon

Plus, fireworks and a new laser light show can be seen from Queen’s Road at 5.30pm.

Ian McKellen - 'one of the world's greatest actors' (Times) - plays Falstaff in a new version of Shakespeare’s Henry IV, adapted by the award-winning writer and director Robert Icke.

Bringing together Shakespeare's two great history plays (Henry IV, parts 1 and 2) into the theatrical event of the season, Player Kings will reign over the New Wimbledon Theatre, 1 - 9 March 2024.

From boxing, martial arts, zumba and yoga to local football, cricket and hockey clubs, the Activity Finder aims to help you get involved in sports and activities, whatever your interests or level of ability.

Tuned In film screening and new single release

Join us on Thursday 14 December at Merton Arts Space, Wimbledon Library from 7:30pm to be part of the first public screening event of a new film documentary about Tuned In produced by King Brilliant Films.

After the screening there will be a short Q&A session with the Director Marc Coker, Jah Wobble, Jon Klein and Anthony Hopkins. The event will also be a celebration of the latest single release of the Tuned In group called ‘Born to be Free’. The single will be released on Friday 8 December on Cherry Red Records. The event is free but tickets must be booked via the link below. Refreshments will be provided on the evening after the screening.
