Easter Egg with Chick

Easter fun for everyone

On every Market Day between Wednesday 1 April and Saturday 11 April (inclusive) there will be lots of fun activities taking place in Romford Market.

Try your luck in the Easter Egg Hunt, put on your best hat for the Easter Bonnet Parade, say hello to the donkeys or have a special Easter design painted on your child’s face.

All this Easter fun plus plenty of great shopping and service with as smile, so do come along and join in.


St George's Flag

Fly the flag for

St George

On Saturday 25 April Romford Market will be flying the flag for St George.

A huge programme of entertainment is booked including street performers, donkeys, free children’s face painting, St George and a dragon, Royal British Legion Band, Hornchurch Drum and Trumpet Corps Band, Town Crier, circus performers, inflatable slide and ride AND Time FM will be broadcasting live during the day.

Come along and celebrate the Patron Saint of England's day in one of the country’s oldest markets.


Ben Flack Diploma Presentation

Diploma for Romford Market’s Ben

Ben Flack, who is a Market Operative at Romford Market, has received a Diploma in Market Administration from the National Association of British Market Authorities (NABMA) – one of only 20 people in the country to successfully obtain the qualification.

Gaining the diploma was the result of a year of work by Ben, who has worked at Romford Market since 2007.

Coronation Street star coming to Romford Market

Coronation Street’s Martin Platt will be in Romford Market on Saturday 4 April when the Sean Wilson Roadshow arrives in town.

Sean, who played Martin Platt in the famous TV programme, will be presenting his award winning cheeses and a range of preservative free products.

Can you be a Princess for St George?

On Saturday 25 April, Romford Shopping Hall will attempt to break the Guinness world record for the largest gathering of princesses which will take place in Romford Market.

So why not dress like as princess, along with family and friends, to join in this record-breaking attempt?


Future of the Market

Havering Council is working with external experts 20:20 and market traders to look at how to make sure Romford Market remains a vibrant and attractive place for shoppers in the future.

Consultations are currently taking place and a report should be published later this year.


Daniel Lassman Time 107.5

Market Trader takes to the air

A former market trader is now a presenter on Time107.5 radio station.

Daniel Lassman, who is on air every Saturday from 12noon until 2pm, is keen to hear what events take place in Romford Market.

Daniel finished in third place on The Apprentice in 2014.

Mark it in the Market

Mark it in the Market

Havering Police Safer Transport Team security code cycles free of charge on the first Saturday of each month.

The next session will be on Saturday 4 April, between 11.00am and 2.00pm at the South Street end of the market place between Lloyds Bank and the Cooperative Bank.

All residents have to do is turn up so their bike can be security marked and stickers attached to warn would be thieves that they should leave this cycle alone.

The details are also added to the Bike Register.

These free sessions in Romford Market on the first Saturday of each month are one of the ways that the council and police work together to keep crime levels low in our community.
