An event hosted by Havering Council, in partnership with BIZphit, East London Business Place and Enterprise Nation titled "Open for Business, are you ready to win?" is being held on Thursday (24 November).
Local firms are being encouraged to
tap the expertise of a number of business support organisations at a free event
designed to encourage them to bid for, and win, local government and public
sector work.
The early evening event starts at
5.30pm. Emma Jones MBE from Enterprise Nation (pictured above), the recently appointed
Small Business Crown Representative, will be giving the key note speech at the
event. Emma commented: "I've seen at first hand that the Borough of Havering
has an impressive and ambitious small business community. Helping them
get involved with the kind of Government contracts that are available to
them locally is vitally important - and there's never been a better time to
sell to government with a target to spend £1 in every £3 with small businesses
by 2020. This event will introduce businesses to buyers and experts who can
help you get tender ready.”
