Flooding Drop-in Surgery

Did your home get flooded during the heavy rain earlier this year? Do you know what to do to protect your home from flooding?

If you want to find out more call in to the Flooding Drop-in Surgery on Tuesday 8 November, 2.30pm – 8.30pm at The Forest Row Centre, Lodge Lane, Collier Row, Romford, RM5 2LD.

There will be information and advice on how to prevent the effects of flooding in the future.

Havering Council will be joined by representatives from The Environment Agency, National Flood Forum, London Fire Brigade and The Met Office.

Christmas Roadshows

There are three opportunities for you to find out more about staying safe and making new friends this Christmas at some special roadshows being held in different parts of the borough.

Each event is open to any resident over the age of 50 years.

All the events run from 12 noon until 2pm and are on:

Tuesday 23 November at Royal Jubilee Court, Main Road, Gidea Park

Wednesday 24 November at Thomas Sims Court, Wood Lane, Elm Park

Thursday 25 November at Charlbury Court, Charlbury Crescent, Harold Hill

The Housing in Bloom competition has been judged and the winners have received their prizes - look out for the picture special in the next edition of At the Heart magazine.

Since Wednesday 6 April your dog MUST be microchipped to comply with the law.

The Dogs Trust will provide free advice and micro-chipping for dogs, on:

Repairs and maintenance

Do it in a day means our contractor, Breyer Group, will be carrying out all the repairs at a specific location on the same day.

Tenants should still report repairs in the normal way, so Breyer Group knows how many staff, and what equipment, may be needed to do the repairs. But if you see the contractor is working in your street and you have a non-urgent repair, you can report it directly to them and they will try to get it fixed for you on that day.

Regeneration proposals approved by Cabinet

Havering Council's Cabinet has approved the Housing Regeneration Progamme which will see 2,500 new affordable homes built acorss the borough.

Meetings are being held to inform residents about plans for these possible future developments.
