Improvement works start around Romford Station
Work to improve access to Romford station and make the area around it cleaner and brighter have begun. Better lighting, signage, tree planting, bins and seating, and the creation of a larger pedestrian plaza to accommodate the increasing number of people using the station and better pedestrian crossings in South Street and Eastern Road are part of the work that will continue until 25 November and then resume following a break for the festive season. Gidea Park and Harold Wood stations will also benefit from investment next year as part of the preparations for the new Elizabeth line train service. Havering residents will soon be able to travel on brand new trains and enjoy direct access to central London and Heathrow airport.

And finally...
We received a call from a resident asking what is done with the beautiful hanging baskets across the borough once they die off. The good news is that we have a company who maintain the baskets and they collect the baskets later this month and regenerate them for use next year.
