Harold Hill library now open

Opening day for the new library based in the eastern arcade of the Hilldene shopping centre, off Farnham Road, was a great success. The new library is bigger than the previous 1950s building and offers considerably improved facilities. All residents are invited to pop along and see the changes for themselves.

Free swimming

Children aged under eight-years-old will be able to swim for free at Central Park Leisure Centre, Harold Hill as everyone Active extends its swimming offer until October 2016.

Over 50s free swimming

Everyone Active also offers free swimming for adults aged 50 and above, at specific times throughout the week, which is also extended until October 2016.

Care Act group of senior citizens

Volunteers needed

Tapestry is looking for volunteers from Harold Hill to help at Paines Brook Court, a day centre that caters for the needs of frailer adults and those with dementia. Guests at the day centre enjoy a friendly chat, a freshly cooked meal in good company and a host of stimulating activities.

Havering Health and Sport Development organises basketball classes, in partnership with the 5 Star Basketball Academy, every Tuesday during term time, 5pm to 6.30pm at Havering College, Quarles Campus, Tring Gardens, Harold Hill, RM3 9ES. More details available here.

Education 4 Independence is a varied and dynamic provision for adults with learning difficulties which helps develop life skills and independence.

We deliver nationally recognised accredited qualifications to small groups as part of a 5 day a week, 50 weeks a year programme. This includes a range of visits and life-enriching experiences all supervised by our qualified teaching team. It is run in association with the local food bank working in partnership with St Georges Church. It meets each Wednesday between, 10am and 2pm, at St Georges Church Centre.
