The Jungle Book Puppet Theatre

Tuesday 9 August, 10am-12noon

Children can make Mowgli and Baloo puppets to dance around with as they discover the bare necessities of life. For Ages 5+.

Fairkytes Craft Gallery is an exciting and recent addition to our Centre. Come and see the wide range of different crafts on display and for sale, all hand-made by centre users, local craftspeople, or special guest artists.

Rooms and studio for hire

If you’re looking for a room to hold your class or a meeting place for your club, Fairkytes has a number of simple, adaptable spaces in a range of sizes, all at reasonable cost.

​Whether you need a clear area for dance, tables and chairs for a meeting or a cabaret style layout for a quiz night, we can be of help. Every room has folding tables and stacking chairs.  Other facilities available include a projector and screen, CD players, TV, DVD and video playback, PA system, sound and lighting decks and disco lighting.

Fairkytes Live

Fairkytes Live is Hornchurch's most popular live music venue. Situated within the Annexe of Fairkytes Arts Centre​ it has a licensed bar and a full programme of live music and comedy.

Havering Talent: Open Mic Night

Friday 15 July, 6pm

Open Mic nights have attracted dozens of local singers, musicians, bands and dance groups, providing a friendly and encouraging atmosphere in which to gain vital experience and learn performance techniques.

Puck from A Midsummer's Night Dream

Shakespeare in the Garden: A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Saturday 16 July, 6pm

Once again, Equity approved touring performers Illyria, will be visiting Hornchurch for our annual performance of Shakespeare in the Fairkytes garden. Marking the 400th anniversary of the Bard’s passing, this year’s production is the comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

There's a special offer for lovers of the Blues. Fairkytes Live has two not-to-be-missed gigs coming up with American stars Doug MacLeod and Lisa Mills.

Doug has won a string of awards and has played with such legends as Big Joe Turner, Big Mama Thornton and Lowell Fulson. Whilst Alabama-born, Mississippi-based Lisa Mills brings her sultry blend of southern blues, soul and country to Hornchurch.

Fairkytes Live is introducing a short series of Friday afternoon classical concerts, starting with the Keating Duo  and followed by by harpist Rachel Wick from the Roayl Academy of Music on Friday 14 October.
