Is a Cranham or Upminster business a winner?
If you know a Cranham or Upminster business that gives
good customer service or if you have a favourite local retailer why not
nominate them for the Havering Business Awards 2016.
It’s free to enter and the business will
benefit from a higher profile and if it wins there is a package of PR and
marketing for it too.
There are 11 categories to enter and full details can be found here.

Are you good at IT?
If
you know your way round a computer and could spare an hour or two to help
someone who doesn’t we’d like to hear from you.
Upminster Library is looking for volunteers to run some IT support sessions each
month at the library.
Help needed can range from setting up an email
account through to helping access Council services online. Please complete the form here if you are able to help.

Waste
collection in Upminster
We
have received some concerns regarding the collection of waste on Corbets Tey
Road, Upminster. Our crews are instructed not to collect any bags left
on top of walls or bins so that correct manual handling techniques are used to
avoid back injuries (each waste collection operative has to lift approximately
2,000 bags per day).
This also protects the crews from sharp objects in the bag, or the contents
of the waste bags spilling onto them.
We
understand residents leave their bags in this way because of pests such as
foxes. Please only put your waste out on the morning of collection, prior
to 7am. Please ensure all bags are on the floor.
Should
you experience any problems with your waste collection, please
report it here, so it goes direct to the correct team.
