History of Cockney London

Havering Adult College’s is offering this four-week course discovering the fascinating history of quirky cockney traditions. The course starts on Monday 11 April, 1pm – 3pm at the Bower Park Centre. The cost of the course is £42. Enquire about enrolment here.

​Following outstanding success in winning 47 prizes at last year's London in Bloom awards, the borough willcompete at national level in the Royal Horticultural Society's prestigious Britain in Bloom competition 2016.

Collier Row Library is looking for volunteers to work alongside staff.

Volunteers can help with everything from creating exciting book displays to shelf stacking, to helping with baby-bounce events or teaching people how to use computers and iPads right through to fundraising or helping libraries reach more people.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will celebrate her 90th birthday on Sunday 12 June 2016,

Communities across Havering can be part of this national celebration by organising a neighbourhood street party. Street parties are a great part of British life and an opportunity for communities to come together and celebrate national occasions.The deadline for street party applications is Friday 29 April.
