level in the Royal Horticultural Society's prestigious Britain in Bloom competition 2016

Harold Wood Library is looking for volunteers to work alongside
staff.
Volunteers can help with everything from
creating exciting book displays to shelf stacking, from helping with baby-bounce events
or teaching people how to use computers and iPads right through to fundraising
or helping libraries reach more people.

A127 lane
reopens during daytime
The
eastbound lane which was closed as part of the Ardleigh Green Bridge
replacement, will now be open during daytime working. This should continue
until June.
Lanes
on the A127 may still be closed overnight to allow work to take place as part
of this scheme.
Access
to the A127 from Bryant Avenue, Harold Wood will close for around eight
weeks from mid-April while essential utility works are carried out.
Lane
closure for road surface testing
Working
with the Transport Research Laboratory, TfL will be
carrying out road surface testing on the A127 on the evening of Wednesday 13
April.
The
A127 will be closed eastbound from Hall Lane from 9pm until 5am on Thursday
14 April. There will be no through route from Gallows Corner to the
M25, however local access will be maintained.
During the surface testing works, the diversion
from Gallows Corner to the M25 will be via the A12.

From April until
June, work will begin on refurbishing the existing ticket hall, and the
temporary ticket hall in the car park will come into use.

Party for the Queen's Birthday
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will celebrate her 90th
birthday, on
Sunday 12 June 2016,
Communities across Havering can be part of
this national celebration by organising a neighbourhood street party. Street parties are a great part of British life and an opportunity for
communities to come together and celebrate national occasions. The deadline for street party applications is Friday 29 April.

Havering Adult College is offering a five-week Wine Appreication course at Redden
Court School, in Harold Wood, starting on Wednesday 27 April, 7:00pm – 19:00pm, at

Romford Referees' Society meets each month at Harold Wood Sports Pavilion, Harold Wood Park,
Harold View, Harold Wood, RM3 0LX.
Former Romford FC star, Barry Cappi, will speak on Monday 18 April, 8pm. Existing and would-be referees are welcome to attend.
