Harold Hill residents and local businesses are encouraged to comment on Havering Council's budget proposals before the deadline of Thursday 17 December 2015.

We have launched our budget consultation after proposals to save £24 million over the next three years were agreed by the Cabinet.

The proposals outline how we aim to make the savings by generating income through the introduction of a housing company, investing in renewable energy; encouraging residents to engage with us online, and limiting the amount of waste left out for collection.

Broadford Primary School’s choir will be singing at Cottons Park, Romford on Friday 11 December, 1pm – 2pm; at Charlbury Court sheltered housing scheme on Tuesday 15 December, 12.30pm – 1.30pm; at Serena, Solar and Sunrise Courts sheltered housing scheme on Wednesday 16 December, 1pm – 2pm and at William Tansley Smith sheltered housing scheme on Thursday 17 December, 1pm – 2pm.

St Ursula’s Catholic Junior School’s choir will be singing carols at Romford Shopping Hall on Wednesday 16 December from 10am.

Guitar for Beginners

Havering Adult College is offering this eight week course to learn how to play Guitar! You must bring your own acoustic guitar to these lessons. The course will start on Wednesday 20 January, 7pm – 9pm at the Redden Court School. The cost of the course is £82. Enquire about enrolment.  Get more information on music courses.

Radio training

Radio Harold Hill, based at St George’s Church Centre in Chippenham Road, has received a Big Lottery Fund grant to train more volunteers in radio production, script writing, radio interview techniques and customer services.

Trainees will learn in a live studio environment.


Harold Hill Police SNT at St Georges Church

Each police Safer Neighbourhoods Team (SNT) holds meetings for the public can attend and ask questions and get crime prevention advice.

In Harold Hill there are two SNTs - Gooshays and Heaton - and their next meetings are:

The Gooshays SNT also hold regular coffee mornings (pictured) at St George's Church.

The Early Help Service runs drop-in sessions and other activities at two places in Harold Hill -  Chippenham Road Children’s Centre and Community Hub and the Ingrebourne Children’s Centre and Community Hub in Taunton Road.

Looking for work?

The London - Harold Hill Job Club is free to attend and is facilitated by Christians Against Poverty (CAP).

It is run in association with the local food bank working in partnership with St Georges Church. It meets each Wednesday between, 10am and 2pm, at St Georges Church Centre
