Remember to follow the
12 Safer Days of Christmas

The Romford Town Police Shop, in Laurie Walk, The Liberty
Centre, Romford is open from Wednesday 9 until Monday 21 December, 10.30am – 3.30pm
to provide crime prevention and community safety advice, promoting the 12 Safer Days of Christmas.
Joining the Romford Town SNT members will be representatives
from different groups on each day including London Fire Brigade, Havering
Council’s Trading Standards, Community Wardens, Streetcare team and the
Havering Police Safer Transport Team.
St Johns Ambulance will provide first aid advice and you can
also get information on food safety and how to become a Health Champion with
Tapestry.
Act fast and make your views known on Council's budget plans
Romford residents and business people are
encouraged to comment on Havering Council's budget proposals before Thursday 17
December 2015.
We have launched
our budget consultation after plans to save £24 million over the next three
years were passed by Cabinet.
|

The proposals outline
how we aim to make the savings by generating income through the introduction of
a housing company, investing in renewable energy and managing demand through
encouraging residents to engage with us online. We also plan to limit the
amount of waste left out for collection.
The full Budget Report can be read here.

Remembering loved ones at Christmas
You are invited to bring extra Christmas tributes and wreaths to
remember loved ones buried at Romford Cemetery. Over Christmas, we will not be
enforcing the rule which limits you to placing tributes within the 18 inch
garden space in front of the headstone. For safety reasons, please do not bring
breakable items such as glass, china or lanterns; we will continue to remove
these. Full
details available here.
|
If you see something that needs improving in Romford please report it using the Council’s
online forms.
The forms cover a wide range of issues from fly-tipping to
potholes. Completing the correct form sends it direct to the right
people to deal with that issue.
