Fly-tipping costs builder £4,289

Mr Liam Poynter, a builder of 70 Maxey Road,
Dagenham, was engaged by a householder in Belvedere through the MyBuilder.com
website, to complete some decorating work and remove waste.
On 11 July 2014, this waste, which included
building and decorating products, a table, radiator cover and packaging
material, was dumped in Little Gerpins Lane, Upminster a regular spot for fly-tipping. Havering’s
officers found evidence at the scene, linking the waste to Mr Poynter.
At Barkingside Magistrates Court on 25 September
2015, Mr Poynter failed to attend but was found guilty and fined £3,000, with
costs of £1,169 and a victim surcharge of £120, a total £4,289.
