District Line update

On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, no service between Aldgate East and Upminster. This is to allow for Crossrail work at Whitechapel, track and drainage replacement work at East Ham and station improvement work at Stepney Green. Replacement buses will operate.

Barclays Wheels for Change cycling event

On Friday 18 September the Barclays Wheels for Change event will take place with part of the route including Noak Hill Road, Harold Hill and Chequers Road, South Weald.

Delays may occur while cyclists are using this route, which is likely to be on the morning of the event.


Forthcoming disruption on the A127

There are works taking place over the next few months on the A127, between Gallows Corner and the M25. The work includes the central barrier being removed during September and October, with lane two closed each way for approximately six weeks.  


Avoid roadworks for a quicker journey

You can speed up your journey by using this website that shows where all roadworks in Havering are taking place. The website includes work being done by gas, electricity, water, telecom and other utilities as well as by the Council.

Roadworks

On Monday 21 September road works will take place outside 51 Hall Lane, Upminster. Temporary traffic lights will be in use.

Until Tuesday 22 September road works will take place in Sunnings Lane, Upminster. The road will be closed. Diversions will be in place.

From Thursday 24 September until Friday 25 September road works will take place outside 219 Wingletye Lane, Hornchurch. Temporary traffic lights will be in use.

Until Thursday 24 September road works will take place on Chequers Road, Noak Hill.

From Friday 25 September until Tuesday 29 September road works will take place outside 136 Abbs Cross Lane, Hornchurch. Temporary traffic lights will be in use.

Until October 2015, junction improvement work will take place to install a roundabout to replace the traffic lights at the junction of Straight Road, Harold Hill with Broxhill Road, Lower Bedfords Road and Noak Hill Road. Drivers are advised to find alternative routes if possible.


A12 lane closures

One lane of the westbound carriageway of the A12, near the junction with Harold Court Road, Harold Wood, will be closed between 10pm and 6am each night from Monday 21 September until Friday 25 September inclusive. This is part of a programme of road works on this stretch of the A12 due to end on Friday 6 November.

M25 closures

Work to replace important bridge components at junction 29 of the M25 will take place overnight between Sunday 20 September and Monday 28 September. Overnight closures will be in place on Sunday to Friday between 10pm and 5.30am on Mondays to Thursdays, between 11pm and 6am on Friday and between 10pm and 5.30am on Sundays.

The eastern section of the roundabout will be closed first, followed by a closure on the western section of the roundabout. Diversions will be in place. 

Until mid-September three out of the four anti-clockwise lanes on the M25, between junction 26 (Waltham Abbey) and junction 25 (Waltham Cross) will be closed Monday to Thursday from 10pm until 5.30am and on Friday from 11pm until 5.30am. The closures are for an embankment to be strengthened.

During next week, as part of work being done by Highways England,  there may be lane closures on the A13, near the junction with the M25.
