Gold Awards for Raphael Park
Romford flower power has helped Havering win the top
award in the London in Bloom 2015 competition with eleven awards
being won in the town.
Local areas which gained awards were:
Raphael
Park winning gold and being category winner in the Heritage Park and Garden
of the Year category and winning gold in the Large Park of the Year category
Coronation
Gardens winning a certificate in both the Heritage Park and Garden of the
Year and Small Park of the Year categories
Rise
Park winning silver in the Large Park of the Year category
Cottons
Park winning silver gilt in the Large Park of the Year category
Lodge
Farm Park winning silver gilt in the Large Park of the Year category
St. Edward’s Churchyard, Romford winning silver in the
Churchyard category
Crow
Lane Cemetery winning silver in the Large Cemetery category
The
Ludwigshafen Roundabout winning The Chairman’s Award
Havering won 47 of the
193 awards available
across London and will now represent the capital in the Britain in Bloom 2016
competition.

Medigold on the move
From Monday 21 September the Medigold Occupational
Health clinic in Romford will be at Queens Court, 9-17 Eastern Road, Romford, RM1 3NG.
If you see something that needs improving in Romford please report it using the Council’s
online forms.
The forms cover a wide range of issues from fly-tipping to
potholes.
Completing the correct form sends it direct to the right
people to deal with that issue.

Mayoress wants to meet you
If you are over 50 and sometimes feel lonely then the
Mayoress of Havering wants to meet you at Tesco’s Roneo Corner store’s
community room on Sunday 4 October between 10am and 12noon or between 2pm and
4pm.

From Thursday 1 October Citizens Advice Havering will
be operating from 9 Victoria Road, Romford, RM1 2JT.
Opening hours will be:
- Monday to Thursday, 8.30am – 12.30pm, information, advice
and limited interview appointments
- Monday to Thursday, 1pm – 4.30pm and Friday, 9am – 4.30pm, information
only.

BANTER comes to Romford
Romford-born comedian Sara
Pascoe will be on stage for the opening night of BANTER,
a pop-up comedy club being launched in Romford on Saturday 26 September. The
first venue for the club is The
Quadrant, in Romford Market Place. The show starts at 7pm and
tickets cost £5.
