£2,621 cost of fly tipping in Bedfords Park
 Mr
Andi Pemaj, of Andi Contractor Ltd, a builder and decorator in Saville Road,
Romford, appeared at Barkingside Magistrates Court on Friday 21 August.
One
of Mr Permaj's sub-contractors, who was working on an Andi Construction project,
dumped a load of building waste in Bedfords Park. This was subsequently traced
back to Mr Permaj's client by Council investigators.
Mr
Permaj refused to name the contractor who dumped the waste, but pleaded guilty
to knowingly allowing a fly-tip to happen, for which he was fined £750, with a
further fine of £750 for failing in a duty of care plus costs. The total was £2,621.

The
Mayor
of Havering opened the new Costa Coffee, 311-313 Collier Row Lane,
Collier Row, RM5 3ND.
Costa
Coffee is one of a number of new outlets that have recently opened in the area.

 London in Bloom boost for Collier Row
Collier Row flower power has helped Havering win
the top award in the London in Bloom 2015 competition with six awards being won in the town.
Local areas which gained awards were:
Bedfords
Park,which won gold in both the Large Conservation Area and Country Park of the Year categories
Havering
Country Park, which won silver in both the Large Conservation Area category and the Country Park of the Year category
Lawns
Park, which won silver gilt in the Small Conservation Area category
King
Georges Playing Field,which won silver gilt in the Large Park of the Year category
Havering
won 47 of the 193 awards available across London and will now
represent the capital in the Britain in Bloom 2016 competition.

The Roobies top bill at street party
A street party in Collier Row to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen
becoming Great Britain’s longest reigning monarch, saw Hornchurch-based band The Roobies joined by the Deputy Mayor of Havering, Councillor Philippa
Crowder, as they provided live music at the event.
