TFL Rail services

Due to planned engineering works taking place there will be a revised service on TfL Rail on Saturday 15 August with fewer trains serving Maryland, Forest Gate and Manor Park.

Harold Wood Station

As part of the Crossrail preparations, Network Rail will be fully refurbishing the ticket hall at Harold Wood station.  In the interim, a temporary ticket hall will be created.

From Saturday 8 August there will be a total of 81 car park spaces available at Harold Wood station car park, as 49 spaces will be needed by the contractors.

Season ticket holders and disabled space users will be allocated available space at the station, but other users may find it easier to use car parks at nearby Gidea Park or Brentwood stations.

From December 2015 until summer 2016, car parking spaces will be reinstated gradually for public use.

Gidea Park Station

Network Rail has started work on refurbishing the footbridge at Gidea Park Station as part of significant improvements to prepare the station for the arrival of Crossrail. The station is part of the Transport for London rail network and upgrades will include: two new lifts to provide step-free access to the platforms, platform extensions to accommodate  Crossrail trains  and new platform lighting and CCTV.

Work is expected to finish by summer 2016.

Romford Station

Crossrail is coming, and to make sure the longer trains can stop at Romford, work is underway to extend the western end of the platforms so they will be over the River Rom.

The work is due to finish in May 2016 and will involve closure of some footpaths in the station area. More details are available here.

QE2 bridge closures - correction

Please note: The QE2 Bridge will be closed from 10pm on Saturday 15 August until 5.30am on Sunday 16 August to allow a new gantry to be installed, not 10am as in our previous email. We apologise for this error.

The southbound M25 will be closed from junction 30 to junction 1a, with a clearly signed diversion in place via the A13, Blackwall Tunnel and A2 to the M25 junction 2.

Following the planned closure, between 5.30am and 8am, only one lane will be open over the QEII bridge; this is so that structural surveys can be safely carried out on a footbridge between junction 1a and 1b.  The M25 clockwise junction 31 entry slip road will also be closed at the same time, with a diversion in place to junction 30.

Roadworks

From Monday 17 August, until Monday 24 August road works will take place between 8am and 4pm outside Elmcroft, North Road, Havering-atte-Bower. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation.

From Thursday 20 August, until Wednesday 26 August road works will take place between 9.30am and 3pm outside Rose Cottage, Noak Hill Road, Harold Hill. Temporary traffic lights will be in operation.

Until Sunday 6 September, parts of Ashton Road, Harold Hill, will be closed between 8am and 5pm for road works to take place. Diversions will be in place.

Until October 2015, junction improvement work will take place to install a roundabout to replace the traffic lights at the junction of Straight Road, Harold Hill with Broxhill Road, Lower Bedfords Road and Noak Hill Road. Drivers are advised to find alternative routes if possible.

Until 2017, work by Transport for London (TfL) to replace the bridge which takes the A127 over the railway at Ardleigh Green, is taking place. During this work there will be a 30mph speed limit in place, and some off-peak lane closures (10am until 3pm and 10pm until 5am).

M25 lane closures

Until mid-September three out of the four anti-clockwise lanes on the M25, between junction 26 (Waltham Abbey) and junction 25 (Waltham Cross) will be closed Monday to Thursday from 10pm until 5.30am and on Friday from 11pm until 5.30am. The closures are for an embankment to be strengthened.
