Harold Wood Station

As part of the Crossrail preparations, Network Rail will be fully refurbishing the ticket hall at Harold Wood station.  In the interim, a temporary ticket hall will be created.

From Saturday 8 August there will be a total of 81 car park spaces available at Harold Wood station car park, as 49 spaces will be needed by the contractors.

Season ticket holders and disabled space users will be allocated available space at the station, but other users may find it easier to use car parks at nearby Gidea Park or Brentwood stations.

From December 2015 until summer 2016, car parking spaces will be reinstated gradually for public use.

Gidea Park Station

Network Rail has started work on refurbishing the footbridge at Gidea Park Station as part of significant improvements to prepare the station for the arrival of Crossrail. The station is part of the Transport for London rail network and upgrades will include: two new lifts to provide step-free access to the platforms, platform extensions to accommodate  Crossrail trains  and new platform lighting and CCTV.

Work is expected to finish by summer 2016.

Romford Station

Crossrail is coming, and to make sure the longer trains can stop at Romford, work is underway to extend the western end of the platforms so they will be over the River Rom.

The work is due to finish in May 2016 and will involve closure of some footpaths in the station area. More details are available here.
