How to stay COVID-safe this half-term
COVID-19 cases remain relatively high across London and while Plan B restrictions have been removed, the virus is still a serious risk for many in our communities. Keep yourself and your loved ones safe, including over half-term, by continuing to follow public health advice:
-
Test regularly to check you’re COVID-free – pick up rapid tests at your local pharmacy or order online at gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests
- Wear a face covering, unless you’re exempt
- Open windows regularly when socialising indoors
- Wash hands regularly and use hand sanitiser when you go out
-
Certain venues may still require a COVID-pass on a voluntary basis. If you are heading to an event or venue, check entry requirements beforehand.
-
If you haven’t yet, please get your COVID-19 vaccinations and a booster. For more information about booking and eligibility, visit camden.gov.uk/getting-the-vaccine

Travelling abroad? Here’s what you need to know to return to England
From tomorrow (Friday 11 February) fully vaccinated people and those under 18 no longer need to test before or on arrival back into England.
If you’re unvaccinated, proof of a negative COVID-19 test is still required 2 days before you fly back to England, and you must pre-book and pay for a PCR test to be taken after you arrive.
All passengers, regardless of their vaccination status, still need to complete a passenger locator form before returning to England. For more information visit gov.uk/coronavirus

Take this 5-minute survey and help improve Camden’s pharmacies
We’re currently undertaking a review of pharmacy needs and services across the borough. As part of this review, we’re seeking feedback on your pharmacy experiences – what you like or don’t like, and the kinds of things you want more or less of at your local pharmacy in the future.
If you’d like to have your say, complete the survey by Friday 4 March – it only takes 5 minutes and is 100% confidential. If you can, please share the link with family and friends to help us reach as many residents as possible. Printed copies are available upon request. Please email Shivangi.Medhi@islington.gov.uk or call 020 7527 1324.

Race Equality Week
Monday 7 February 2022 marked the start of Race Equality Week – a week when organisations across the country unite in activity to address race in the workplace, and address issues affecting colleagues from Black, Asian and other ethnic backgrounds. The theme of this year’s week has been ‘Action, Not Just Words’, and we all have a role to play in achieving race equality, especially by challenging racism and discrimination wherever we see it – whether that’s at work, at home or in our communities.
Ways to take action in your workplace might include getting involved in or driving forward your work’s race equality programme, or finding and sharing learning resources with colleagues. Have a look at the programme of online talks available to learn more about the initiative and how you can take action.
We know there are many organisations in Camden who have been marking Race Equality Week this week, and it has been a good opportunity to reflect on some of the wider work happening across Camden to tackle racial inequality. We’ve seen lots of work come out of the Building Equal Foundations report and action plan launched in 2020, which was developed in collaboration with residents, voluntary and community organisations and community leaders. The report set out 140 actions to tackle racial inequalities and the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on Black, Asian and other ethnic communities. The resulting work is well underway, with 121 out of the 140 calls to action now delivered, and work continuing. You can find out more about that work here.

Time is running out to back these local projects!
The Camden Future High Streets Crowdfund is a local initiative we launched in partnership with civic crowdfunding platform Spacehive. We are seeking to fund the delivery of innovative, forward-thinking projects that support the re-imagining of our high streets and recovery for a sustainable future.
In January, we announced that we pledged a total of £20,500 to help The Kentish Spot and Camden’s Sustainable Market reach their funding goal. With only a few days left to raise the funds we’re calling on all residents to pledge as little as £1 to get these projects off the ground.
