Pocket Park Constructions Starts
Construction is due to start on the first two Pocket Parks on Tottenham Court Road, creating new spaces for people to stop, rest and enjoy on this busy street. They will include seating open to everyone and planting to provide new green spaces to complement the new park at Alfred Place (under construction) and the rejuvenated Whitfield Gardens (open).

Pocket Park update
From the 25th October we will be starting on the first two of three pocket parks planned for Tottenham Court Road. Work to Capper Street starts on Monday 25th October 2021 and is expected to be completed in mid November. Work to Bedford Avenue starts on Monday 8th November and is expected to be completed within a week.
Work to the third pocket park at Bayley Street is being programmed and more information will be shared on this when completed.
Any changes to the programme and updates will continue to be shared on our website.
Tottenham Court Road is now hosting 11 colourful pedestrian crossings as part of the Mayor of London’s Let’s Do London campaign.
This is a £6 million domestic tourism campaign from the Mayor of London to support the economy in central London as Covid-19 restrictions ease, attracting visitors to London and supporting the revitalisation of central London’s economy.
For the local community and visitors, Camden is also hosting a programme of events, so you can get involved and celebrate the artwork. More details on these events will be added to our website.
