5 February 2021
As the current lockdown enters its second month, I know many will be finding life extremely hard. While everyone’s experience is different, it’s so important we continue to look after and be kind to each other – but also to ourselves. That includes taking care of our mental and physical health.
If you need any support, we are here for you. We can provide help with accessing essentials such as food and medicine, support with self-isolation, your finances and much more. To speak to the team, call 020 7974 4444 (option 9) or visit camden.gov.uk/coronavirus
While the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine brings great hope, it is crucial we all continue to stay at home as much as possible – people are still catching the virus every day. Even if you don’t have symptoms, you could be carrying the virus when you go out. If you do need to leave home for work, we are offering free tests with a 45-minute turnaround time for those who live or work in Camden – see details below to book a test.
Stay safe and thank you for continuing to look after our borough.

Update on the COVID-19 vaccine for social care workers
The COVID-19 vaccine is being offered to frontline social care workers working directly with people more vulnerable to COVID-19.
We know many people with care needs directly employ personal assistants or care workers themselves. If you provide paid care either privately or via a direct payment to someone living in Camden, and have not already been given information about booking a vaccination by the person who employs you, please email socialcarevaccinationinfo@camden.gov.uk
If you pay people to provide care, please share this information with your caregiver.

New, extended opening hours at our rapid test sites
The opening hours at the rapid COVID-19 test sites at Jamestown Road and Swiss Cottage Library have been extended to help people without symptoms who must leave home for work get a COVID-19 test.
Even without COVID-19 symptoms you may be infectious and at risk of passing the virus on to others at work or during your commute. By taking a test, you are helping to protect yourself, and other members of the community – particularly those at highest risk of COVID-19.
Appointments are available at test sites across Camden:
-
33-35 Jamestown Road, NW1 7DB, open 7.30am - 7.30pm
-
Swiss Cottage Library, 88 Avenue Road, NW3 3HA, open 7.30am - 2.30pm
-
The New Charlie Ratchford Centre, Crogsland Road NW1 8AY, open 9am - 5pm
-
Triton Café at Regent’s Place, 17-19 Triton Street, Regent’s Place NW1 3BF, open 9am - 5pm
If you know any adult who lives and/or works in Camden who:
-
Does not have any COVID-19 symptoms
-
Cannot work from home and must leave the house to go to work;
-
Cannot access any form of COVID-19 testing from their employer
Please tell them about our free rapid tests and encourage them to book an appointment. The test only takes a few minutes to book and you receive results in 45 minutes
If you have COVID-19 symptoms please self-isolate and get a free test by calling 119 or via nhs.uk/coronavirus. If you need help booking call Camden Council on 020 7974 4444 (option 9).

It's important to socially distance in any communal areas of your home to help keep you and your neighbours safe.
If you live in a building with a lift, please always use the lifts safely:

Please remember to follow lockdown restrictions
Sadly, cases of coronavirus are still very high in London, so please continue to follow public health advice to prevent catching the virus and passing it on:
-
Wear a face covering in indoor public spaces unless you’re exempt
-
Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently
-
Keep your distance from people that you don’t live with
