Reopening your business safely during COVID-19

Reopening your business safely during COVID-19

As lockdown measures begin to ease this weekend, we are supporting businesses in Camden, including bars, pubs and restaurants, to reopen safely and get their premises COVID-secure.

Where possible, businesses should encourage their customers and staff to keep a safe 2 metre distance from others. Where they can’t keep 2 metres apart, they can stay 1 metre apart, as long as other measures are followed.

Here’s how you can help your customers and staff to keep a safe distance:

  • Use of facemasks and coverings
  • Use of screens and barriers
  • Implement of a one-way system for customers to navigate through the premises
  • Stagger opening and closing times
  • Avoid face-to face contact where possible
  • Provide hand-sanitising and washing facilities
  • Use contactless or card payment facilities
  • Minimise queuing and manage unavoidable queues.

If you’re planning to reopen your business this weekend, you must undertake appropriate risk assessments to make your premises COVID-secure. You can use the Government’s COVID-secure risk assessment tool.

Our frontline presence team is out across Camden seven days a week offering support and advice to businesses on safe social distancing. They make sure local businesses are maintaining 2-metre distancing, where possible, or keeping a safe distance, to protect customers and their workforce.

We’ll also be sharing useful guidance this weekend via Twitter. Please follow @CamdenCouncil and retweet spread the word via your social channels.
