Works restarting 25th May

On the 30th March our contractors Eurovia paused all work on the West End Project in response to Coronavirus (COVID-19).

We expect to start a phased return to work towards the end of May, starting with small areas of work and building to a full return in mid-June.

Back to work dates

The dates below are indicative depending on continuing government guidance.

  • 25th May – work to begin in Princes Circus at the junction of Bloomsbury Street and New Oxford Street for basement works
  • 26th May – work to begin across the Princes Circus area for lighting connections
  • 15th June – work to resume fully across the West End Project area

The pause to the project due to Coronavirus (COVID-19), will have caused delay to the overall programme and more information on this will be added to our website once the extent and impact are fully understood.

NHS Coronavirus Advice >>

Working safely

Eurovia will be following government guidance on physical distancing and working safely during this pandemic which includes:

  • Using smaller working groups to allow for adequate physical distancing
  • Creating extra space in the working area for parking to avoid the use of public transport
  • Adding extra and / or larger welfare facilities for staff
  • Using more road space / pavement space when working on areas to ensure physical distancing

Signage will be up across the site reminding you to remain 2 m from our work force as they continue this much needed transformational safety work.
