Gower Street resurfacing

Christmas shut down

All of the West End Project work will stop on the 20th December and restart on the 6th January.

All roads closed by the project will be reopened during this time and fencing removed as much as possible. Only safety critical barriers will remain.

The project team would like to wish you a very merry festive season.

Gas works / Princes Circus update

Emergency gas works unrelated to our project are still taking place on Shaftesbury Avenue between Monmouth Street and High Holborn. Road closures and pedestrian diversions are in place. Once the gas company have completed their work we will reinstate the new paving. Unfortunately a water main was hit during their works so this must first be repaired before they can continue. This area will remain fenced off over the Christmas period.

We are awaiting delivery of the curved kerb blocks for around the entrance to Neal Street so we will be tarmacking this area temporarily until they arrive in April so not to delay the paving works any further.

HS2 work on Gower Street

HS2 is continuing work at the northern end of Gower Street close to the Euston slip road.

This is part of their utility works; you can find out more on their programme and sign up for updates via their website .
