Resurfacing Gower Street
A reminder that on the 25th November we will start resurfacing Gower Street in preparation for the change to two way traffic in spring 2020.
We have started work on the cycle tracks early, so have been able to reprogramme the resurfacing dates to finish sooner.

Resurfacing
We will start our resurfacing on Monday 25th November and now plan to have these works completed by the end of Monday 9th December.
We are working in sections along the road to minimise the disruption. Road closures, pedestrian diversions and pedestrian crossing closures will all be needed to facilitate this work.
Noise and rubbish collections
One of the noisiest parts of this work involves digging to prepare the road for resurfacing. We will also have large vehicles moving around the area to prepare and lay the new road surface. We will be working as efficiently as possible to ensure that noise is kept to a minimum throughout.
Please leave rubbish on the nearest side street for collection.
We apologise for the inconvenience that this work will cause.
Contact
If you have any concerns during the works you can contact the West End Project enquiry line 24 hours a day on 0845 3308 743.

Impacts
We have reduced the length of time each section will take to resurface. During this time we will need to put in place road closures to side streets and close a section of Gower Street. Pedestrian diversions will be in place and there will be closures to pedestrian crossings.
During this time there will be no vehicle access 24 hours a day to the closed section of Gower Street.
For more detail on each section see our website for the programme. This timetable is subject to change and will be updated as the work continues.
