The future of Tottenham Court Road

Breaking for Christmas

Work on Tottenham Court Road, being delivered as part of the West End Project, will end on the 14th December to ensure minimal disruption over Christmas.

We will be closing up our working areas and making them safe over the Christmas period. Work will restart on Wednesday 2nd January.

Chenies Street War Memorial Restored

War memorial restored

As part of the West End Project the War Memorial on Chenies Street has been restored.

Camden has laid brand new York Stone paving and removed parking spaces around the memorial to improve the setting. Partnerships were key to this restoration with the lease holders Iron Mountain putting in new fencing and the Just Rifles charity gaining a grant from the War Memorial Trust for the historic conservation.

Phasing Plan - Updated August 2018

New project programme

We have updated the project programme to reflect changes to the order of works on Tottenham Court Road. We have rearranged the programme to keep disruption to a minimum as we fit around other local developments and local utility works.

We have also updated the map which shows the finished scheme in order to correct an error on Streatham Street.

West End Community Conversation

Camden is holding a Community Conversation for Holborn and Covent Garden on Tuesday 20th November at Conway Hall.

This is an opportunity to discuss your concerns about the area relating to anti-social behaviour, crime and community safety issues.

Using apps to report anti-social behaviour or waste issues

We have been working hard to prevent build-up of rubbish in the area we are working in. If you do see any uncollected rubbish you can report it quickly and easily via the Clean Camden app.

We are also aware of anti social behaviour issues in and around Tottenham Court Road. If you have any concerns you can use the Camden Safer Street App to report any issues.

The Camden website also has information on other ways to report issues aside from using apps.
