Gaskell Street peace garden

The community peace garden outside the front of Wood House is almost completed. The TRA requested an improvement to their garden over five years ago and with the support of Barry Bugden from Social VauleTeam, Community Works and Residents Engagement Team, Lambeth have been able to create a new garden space which is now a relaxing tranquil space, with new wheelchair friendly pathways, flower beds and planting areas for residents.
To mark the completion of the garden, the Gaskell Street TRA will be arranging an opening lunch event in April. Stay tuned for the date!
South Lambeth Estate Funday
The event was superb, lots of engagement with residents. Young people played football with the coaches of Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Fulham. Parent remarked that it was well needed and it the first time they have seen structured football on the estate. Residents were very happy to have Lambeth Repairs contractors Wates on-site.
Fulham Foundation are currently arranging to have a Kick session across a 12 week programme. Some children have been invited to attend further sessions, as they have showed promising skills in football.
