ELEVATE Lambeth schools newsletter

As we draw to the end of 2023, we have been reflecting on the last five years.

We recently published “Creative Ways We’ve Grown: Lambeth’s Creative and Digital Industries Strategy Five Years On” to highlight the inspirational individuals and institutions who have contributed to the creative growth of the borough since 2018 and begin thinking about how we might move forward with our work.

As well as highlighting the progress made over the last five years, we also premiered the new ELEVATE promo film.

We want to thank partners, contributors, collaborators, funders, and champions who have played a pivotal role in the success of Creative and Digital Industries in Lambeth to date, and we invite anyone who wants to join us on our future journey to get in touch.

For more information about ELEVATE and how you can get involved please email ELEVATE@Lambeth.gov.uk.

Read on for some festive activities and opportunities to get involved in this December.

Winter Festival at Southbank Centre

Southbank Centre's Winter Festival returns, sprinkling magic across our site.

Have you spotted the brand-new installation illuminating the windows of the Queen Elizabeth Hall? The Winter Windows have been created by Year 6 students from local school Oasis Academy Johanna (Waterloo) in collaboration with Brixton-based architecture practice Squire and Partners as part of our 2023/24 Winter Light exhibition. For the past six years, Squire and Partners have teamed up with children from Lambeth to design neon lights to be displayed in the windows of their offices at The Department Store in Brixton.

Alongside the winter lights there is spellbinding shows, glorious music and choirs, luminous art, festive family fun and our wondrous Winter Market and pop-ups.
