Hello,
Little over two weeks ago, we received the deeply sad news that Her Majesty The Queen had passed away.
Her Majesty and the Royal Family have always been good friends to Lambeth, and so it was especially important that we came together as one borough to mark this event in our shared history.
From taking condolence books around care homes, to the proclamation of King Charles III in Windrush Square with local school children and a steel band – we wanted everyone to be able to be involved and to do so in a way which captured the spirit of Lambeth.
I want to say a huge thank you to all of the council staff, emergency services, and members of the local community who have gone above and beyond to bring together our response – especially as one of three boroughs with a major role in organising the queue for the many people who wished to pay their respects at Her Majesty lying-in-state.
Councillor Claire Holland, Lambeth Council Leader

Help shape Lambeth’s Air Quality Action Plan
Lambeth’s air quality has improved over the years but there is still more work to do, that’s why we’ve launched a consultation on our Air Quality Action Plan 2023 to 2025. We’re seeking views on the actions we're proposing to improve air quality, reduce people’s exposure to pollution and protect the most vulnerable from toxic air. Our draft air quality action plan sets out some ways to achieve this and work towards our ambitious goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.

Local service providers can apply for funding next month
A second round of funding for local health and wellbeing projects will open to applicants in October. At the start of the year, we teamed up with the Norwood Forum to give grants to 13 local projects. After a successful few months, more funding is now available to help local services who are supporting our communities to bounce back from the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic by providing activities such as community gardening, kids fitness and homework sessions.
