June 2020 TRA newsletter update

Dear TRA Committee Member

Welcome to another edition of our TRA Newsletter. In this edition you'll find information on a range of topics from government Covid-19 updates, to event organising, board meetings and how you can access free courses plus more.

Next TRA Webinar – organising an event

Organising event

Next webinar will be on Monday 29 June @ 6pm to discuss how you plan an event. Please contact Doreen Mason on dmason@lambeth.gov.uk to be invited. If you need help getting online please speak to your RPO.

Government guidance - partial opening of facilities

The Government just announced that facilities can re-open provided they can operate social distancing.

Whilst we await detailed guidance, we would hope TRAs can run some activities from 4 July. This could include exercise or yoga classes, afterschool activities etc but not parties or large events.

We will provide PPE but need TRAs to ensure they complete risk assessments as part of this. We will send out a template as soon as we have one. Contact your RPO for more details on how you could re-open your facility.

Covid-19 update

Board Corner

Board Meeting

Both the North and South Area Boards met for the first time online this month.

Issues discussed include:

  • Repairs
  • Complaints
  • Voids
  • Anti-Social Behaviour

Board members look at year end performance indicators but were generally unhappy about the direction of travel on many of them. Officers were asked to address these at the next meetings not with standing the difficulties that the lockdown has been causing.

Then you need to know about Unlock and you need to act now.

When? Recruitment is now open and closes on Friday 26 June.

Courses start early July and run 2 or 3 days a week for 6 to 10 weeks.
