Contents insurance: tell us your thoughts

ci2

It’s a good idea to take out contents insurance to cover the cost of replacing your belongings in case of damage or theft. We are launching a new scheme with an insurance provider to offer contents insurance to tenants and leaseholders at competitive rates.

Contents insurance covers all removable items in your home such as clothing, furniture, electrical appliances, and jewellery. Cover starts at £20 per year to insure £4,000 worth of your possessions in case of theft, flooding, fire or leaks.

We’re interested in hearing how you think we should tell residents about the scheme.

Tell us in this quick survey that will take under 2 minutes.

Changes to parking permits

We will soon be modernising the way we manage permits for parking on our housing estates to bring our processes in line with what is offered by the council overall for on-street parking.

This will include:

  • e-permits
  • online applications
  • visitors permits sent to you by post

L500 members are invited to preview the software that we will be introducing and comment on our proposed processes. If you are interested in taking part, please express your interest by emailing getting involved.

We will come back to you with more information on format and likely dates.

Work done you've so far...

Mystery shopping

Thanks to those of you who have expressed your interest in attending a focus group on mystery shopping. We’ll be in touch to confirm details soon. There are still spaces left so if you haven’t already let us know you’re interested, get in touch today.

Garage finder

Thank you for taking the time to feedback on our garages finder software late last year. The system is now live have a look here.

Resident Panels Update

Two resident panels have been created from Lambeth 500+, Area Board, and TRA members to look at Fire Safety and Contract Re-Procurement.

Fire safety meets quarterly and has held two meetings since October 2018 and a third is scheduled for March. The topics discussed were resident liaison communications, fire risk assessments, building regulations post-Grenfell, communal areas policy, front entrance doors and sprinklers.

Contract re-procurement meets on an as and when basis and there have been five meetings since October 2018. Topics of discussion include current contract performance, strengths and weaknesses, service improvement ideas, procurement process, and contract delivery options.

Budget Consultation

Thank you for taking part in the consultation on the Council’s budget for 2019/20. Over 4,000 responses were received and the feedback really helped us to decide on our spending priorities. The budget was approved at a Full Council meeting on 13 February – you can read an update on the meeting for more detail.
