Stakeholder survey – the results are in

Adriènne Kelbie

Welcome to this special edition of the ONR newsletter, where we focus solely on our first independent stakeholder survey results and how they’ll influence our work from 2018 and beyond.

As a public service, ONR’s prime purpose of protecting society drives us every day. We work with people across very diverse roles, experience and views, across local and national communities, industry, government, regulators and media and we want to do our best for each.

We are very grateful to the hundreds of people who spent time giving us feedback, to show us what we are doing well and help identify what we should do better. We are keen to maintain our positives, and will begin to address improvements very shortly, as you’ll soon see in our 2018/19 plan

As always, we welcome suggestions and comments and will keep you informed of our progress.

The survey was undertaken by YouGov and 351 individuals responded from licensees and duty holders to Government, local MPs and media, NGOs and academics, to trade bodies and international regulators.  It was really pleasing to see how well regarded ONR staff are.

ONR’s role is to regulate the nuclear industry on behalf of the public and public safety is what drives us daily. But we wanted to understand through our survey how well we have got that message across to our stakeholders.
