Are you and your employees looking for information on the latest UK government measures around Coronavirus?

If you employ people, the guidance for employers and business on GOV.UK will help you and your workers prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Advice on homeworking for employers

Do you have people working from home temporarily as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak?

As an employer, you have the same health and safety responsibilities for home workers as for any other workers.

Our website has advice on how you can minimise the risks to their health, which includes information on the following topics:

  • Lone working
  • Working with display screen equipment (DSE)
  • Stress and mental health

Training and events postponed

Following the escalation of the COVID-19 outbreak in the UK, HSE have taken the decision to postpone all of our face-to-face training and events until week commencing 1 June 2020.

The health and safety of our customers and staff is our main priority and pausing face-to-face training will help us to maintain this.

By moving bookings to later in the year, we can ensure that we provide you with the world-class expertise you expect to help you make meaningful changes to your business and keep your workforce safe.

If you were planning to join us on a course between now and June, check our website for the most up-to-date list of all of our courses and dates.

Access to workplace facilities for drivers

All drivers must have access to welfare facilities in the premises they visit as part of their work.

We are hearing reports that some drivers are not being allowed to use welfare facilities when they deliver.

Preventing access is against the law, equally it’s not the sensible thing to do. Those who already provide reasonable access to toilets and handwashing facilities should continue to do so.

With the latest advice for hands to be washed regularly, failure to allow access to welfare facilities may increase the risk of the COVID-19 infection spreading.

Read HSE's guidance on having the right workplace facilities.
