Last week the Leader of Hounslow Council, Cllr Steve Curran wrote to all residents about the new restrictions and the range of information, guidance and support available.
Last week, the Government announced a new national lockdown, you must stay at home. But there are exceptions, so it is important you familiarise yourself with the new rules and regulation and what they mean for you.
Don't forget it is still important to wash your hands regularly, wear a face covering and keep a safe distance from others.
Hounslow Council has launched a local COVID-19 contact tracing system to back up NHS Test and Trace and help to get coronavirus under control in the borough. The new system will see Council staff support efforts to locate people who have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Gaps have been identified in the nationwide Test and Trace system, with only around two-thirds of those who need to be contacted being reached. The new localised, One Hounslow approach, aims to improve this by helping the NHS and getting in touch with the other third of people who aren't being reached.
It’s vital people get tested if they think they have symptoms, but remember, you must self-isolate until you get a negative result.
A range of Covid-19 tests are available - you can;
- Order a home test kit
- Go to a local walk-through test centre in Feltham and Heston, or
- Visit a Mobile Testing Site
You can't access a test without booking in advance online or by calling 119.
You should only book a test if you have symptoms or have been asked to book by the Council or a hospital.
