A Message from Kelly O'Neill, Director of Public Health

Kelly O'Neill

COVID-19 positive cases are rising in Hounslow. The more cases rise, the greater the danger that we won’t be able to contain the infection and we will start to see more people in our vulnerable groups become infected and unwell. For these people this virus can be deadly.

This week we had over 340 new COVID cases. In the last week we tested 3,648 people, 9 per cent were positive.

Tier 2 ‘high’ restrictions are in place in our Borough to stop the spread, and protect our most vulnerable.

You must not meet socially with friends and family indoors, unless you live with them or have formed a support bubble.

This is especially important during half term.

A kiss or hug with a family member or friend could pass on the virus quickly. Keep your distance.  Play your part for your family, your community and for Hounslow.  Don’t be the one who spreads the virus.

We must all continue to:

  • Wash hands regularly
  • Wear a face covering
  • Keep a safe distance from others

More information about what the new restrictions mean for people who are vulnerable, and the support available, is outlined below.

Stay safe this half term and don’t break the rules. They’re there to keep everyone safe.
