Success for Hounslow Students
Hounslow’s GCSE students were able to celebrate some excellent results last week despite having not been able to sit their exams this summer.
The celebrations amongst teachers and students alike came after a turbulent few days which saw the government ditching its widely criticised approach to the award of A level grades last week and a subsequent eleventh hour change to their approach for awarding GCSEs with a much greater emphasis placed on teacher assessed grades. Provisional results suggest a small improvement on last year’s grades with around 85% of students achieving grade 4 or better in English and 80% of students achieving grade 4 or better in Maths.
