Horsham skatepark is open

Local skateboarders, BMX enthusiasts, scooter riders and inline skaters can enjoy some of the best facilities in the area thanks to Horsham Park's brand-new skatepark, which opened on Wednesday 7 December.

Our Parks and Countryside team worked with a fantastic group of local users to create a space with facilities for inline skaters, BMX, skateboarders and scooters.

Community daffodil planting event in Storrington

Hands planting bulbs in soil

Take part in planting an avenue of Daffodils leading to the entrance of Meadowside Play area in Storrington on Sunday 11 December.

From 10am to 12pm Horsham District Council, in partnership with Friends of Meadowside conservation group, are working on a project to plant an avenue of Daffodils. Residents are invited to take part and help plant the bulbs. No experience is necessary, and all equipment will be provided.

Simply pop along to Meadowside Play area (RH20 4EG) to take part. Come spring we will look forward to seeing the daffodils in bloom and the area full of colour.

Council urges organisers to consider food allergens at Christmas events

Amid the seasonal cheer at this month's Christmas fetes and fairs, there will be many colourful and tasty treats on offer. Horsham District Council is recommending that organisers are mindful of some of their visitors that may be intolerant or have an allergy to certain foods.

The Council provides a wide range of services aimed at safeguarding the environment and health, safety and well-being of our community.

Horsham young traders showcase their skills on Small Business Saturday

On 3 December, Small Business Saturday, secondary school and college students from across Sussex taking part in Young Enterprise’s flagship Company Programme, set up trade stands and sold their products at Horsham’s market in the Carfax.

The young entrepreneurs received valuable feedback on their products, business and stand by the expert judges and the public, showcasing the importance of platforms like local markets for doing business.

Council support boosts local sports injury clinic

Horsham District councillors attended the official opening of The Horsham Sports Injury Clinic at its new venue on the Graylands Estate, Langhurst Wood Road.

The Injury Clinic has benefitted from two rounds of LEAP funding awarded from Horsham District Council which has provided training to support the expansion of their business and enabled them to create a booking system on their website.
